Africa Overland Tours: History - Whichway Overland Adventures

The Nomad/ Whichway Adventure Company is known for the wide range of Overland Adventure Tours it offers throughout Africa.


			How did the Nomad Adventure Tours start ?
			The business model for Nomad was conceived when number of individuals drove a 1972 Land Rover from London to Cape Town. The idea was born to create an overlanding company that operated in Africa. In 1997 Nomad Adventure Tours took its first tentative steps. The philosophy behind Nomad was to operate an overland company that delivered a professional and responsible service, yet retained all the fun and adventure that is associated with overland tours.


						How did the Whichway Adventure Company start ?
						The Whichway Adventure Company had humble beginnings. Whichway was born of some fun loving and enthusiastic individuals who shared a love of the outdoors and thrived on adventure. They all shared a passion for river rafting ensuring that many weekends were spent rafting their friends down many different rivers in South Africa. In 1990 an official river rafting company was launched and so the Whichway Adventure Company was born.
						And now Nomad and Whichway are united !
						On the 7th May 2003 Nomad Adventure Tours and Whichway Adventures were offically united. It has been decided after exhaustive investigation to retain both brands but to differentiate services. And so it was decided to focus the Nomad brand on scheduled tours and the Whichway brand on unscheduled or charter tours.
