Quadbiking in the Namib Desert Traveling north from Cape Town, you traverse the scenic Cederberg region before stopping for a relaxing canoe trip down the Orange River. Then it's on to explore Namibia; from the 2nd largest canyon in the world, to red desert dunes and the seaside resort town of Swakopmund. This trip gives you a great feel for Namibia’s diverse and dramatic desert scenery.

Day 1: Cederberg Region
You depart Cape Town heading north for the Cederberg mountain region. These sandstone and shale mountains are famous for their spectacular rock formations. On this first afternoon you spend some time getting to know your fellow travellers and learning about tour life.

Day 2: Gariep River
You travel north through Namaqualand and head for the Gariep River. Namaqualand is big sky country and this vast semi-arid region comes alive in spring when millions of colourful wild flowers cover the countryside. The night is spent sitting around the campfire.

It is quite a long drive up to the Gariep River. There will be a short stop in the town of Springbok for some shopping and possibly banking (there is an ATM here).

Day 3: Gariep River & Ai-Ais
In the morning you have the opportunity to explore the Gariep River by canoe. Gariep is the Nama name for the Orange River, which flows through some of the richest succulent regions in the world. Choose between a relaxing morning on the riverbank or a half-day canoe adventure. After lunch you travel north to the Ai-Ais Hot Springs.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon
After an early breakfast your journey takes you to the mighty Fish River Canyon, the 2nd largest canyon in the world and an area of impressive natural beauty. After marveling at the canyon you travel further inland to the Kalahari area of Namibia. En route you visit the Kokerboom “quiver tree” Forest which consist of hundreds of giant aloes.

Day 5: Bushman & Namib Naukluft NP
This morning those who wish to spend some time with the !Kung, will have the chance to do so. The !Kung people are hunter gatherers who have a remarkable knowledge of this semi-arid region in which they live. This activity is a local community project and all fees are payable directly to the community. Later you drive west towards Sossusvlei and enter the Namib region.

Location: Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Day 6: Namib Naukluft National Park
Taking advantage of the cooler temperatures you depart at dawn and drive into the Namib-Naukluft National Park where you hike up Dune 45 to gain a different perspective of the desert. After this you have the option of hiking with fellow group members into Sossusvlei, a beautiful remote region of huge ochre-coloured sand dunes.

Day 7: Swakopmund
A dramatic drive through the arid Namib-Naukluft sees you arrive at Walvis Bay, where you make a stop to view the flamingos (if they are there). En-route to Walvis Bay you stop at the Kuiseb pass to view its dramatic geology (also known as the Moon Landscapes) and go through the Guab pass, which is the point at which you cross the Tropic of Capricorn.

Then it's on to the seaside resort town of Swakopmund. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the town or enjoy some of the many adventure activities available. Dinner is not included in Swakopmund. Should you wish to go to dinner as a group at a local restaurant – the guides can book this in advance. After the meal you can go out to one of the local clubs. If you do, one of the guides will go with you.

Location: Swakopmund, Namibia
Day 8 : Swakopmund: Tour Ends
Spend the day in Swakopmund in pursuit of adventure and adrenalin. Alternatively you may choose to do some shopping in town or head for the beach. Sadly, your tour ends today.

Optional Activities: Quadbiking, Sandboarding, Sky Diving, Scenic Flights, Fishing etc.
