You begin your tour in the majestic Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the Worldl. From there you travel through rugged and unspoilt Zambia, stopping for some game viewing at Luangwa National Park. Crossing the border into Malawi, you spend a few days relaxing and appreciating the beauty and tranquility the huge lake. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of water sports to enjoy. After a couple of days of relaxation, you cross into East Africa. Your route traverses winding mountain passes through Tanzania’s dramatic mountain landscape before arriving in Dar Es Salaam, the bustling coastal capital.
This is a taste of Southern and East Africa at its best and a trip not to be missed.

| Day 1: Zambia - Victoria Falls Camp |

You spend your first day enjoying some of the many exciting activities on offer in this, the adrenaline capital of Africa, or finalizing arrangements for your trip.

| Day 2: Lusaka Camp |
 |
You leave behind the excitement of Vic Falls and head towards the bustling Zambian capital of Lusaka, a chaotic city with an African energy. Here you can do some shopping, visit the markets, or organise your finances (there are limited banking facilities). |

| Day 3: Luangwa River Camp |
 |
You begin today with some shopping in Lusaka before heading northeast towards the Luangwa River where you spend the night. This is an interesting area full of friendly locals, and a walk along the river is a rewarding experience. |

| Days 4 - 5: South Luangwa NP Camp |
 |
You drive from Luangwa River to South Luangwa where you will spend 2 nights on the riverbanks. You reach your campsite in the late afternoon with time to relax and have a look around this beautiful setting. The concentration of game around the Luangwa River is among the most intense in Africa. The next day you can choose to explore the area on a morning or night game drive, or a game walk accompanied by a professional local guide. Alternatively you can relax by the pool.
On occasion, in the rainy season, it is impossible or inadvisable to attempt to reach South Luangwa National Park. If this happens, then an alternative itinerary will be chosen.

| Day 6: Malawi – Luwawa Forest Camp |
 |
You leave South Luangwa early and pass through the Zambia / Malawi border. Heading north you enter the highlands of Malawi and spend the night at Luwawa Forest, part of the largest man-made forest in Africa. In the summer there are small sail boats that you can sail on the dam and there are some short and long hiking trails.

Note: Because of the high altitude it can get very cold here on winter evenings. |

| Days 7 - 8: Central & Northern Malawi Camp |
 |
You travel to Lake Malawi where you will spend the next couple of carefree days. The lake is nearly 600km long and well-known for its golden shores and stunning natural scenery. If you feel energetic there are endless leisure and water sport activities to keep you busy. Alternatively, soak up the atmosphere and relax in one of the most scenic and memorable holiday destinations in Africa. Your evenings are spent beside the lake’s tranquil waters.
Optional Activities: Scuba diving, parasailing, windsurfing, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, craft shopping, hiking and more
Note: There are many mosquitoes in the area, so take all necessary precautions. |

| Days 9 - 10: Central & Northern Malawi Camp |
 |
You can go hiking up to Livingstonia (7 to 8 hours) or the waterfall (5 hours). These are quite tough hikes and you’ll need to take lunch with you. Alternatively if you’re feeling adventurous you can try abseiling, or simply enjoy another relaxing day at the lakeside. |

| Day 11: Tanzania – Iringa Camp |
 |
Today you make the border crossing out of Malawi. Leaving the lake behind you, you head for your first night in Tanzania. As you climb out of the Great Rift Valley you travel through some spectacular mountain passes and past vast tea plantations en route to your camp outside Iringa.
Note: This camp is at a high altitude and can get cold. |

| Day 12: Tanzania - Dar es Salaam: Tour Ends |
 |
Your route takes you on a transit through Mikumi National Park to the historical port city of Dar es Salaam. Here your tour comes to an end.
Note: Speak to your go2africa consultant if you wish to add an optional excursion to Zanzibar. We recommend a minimum of 3 to 4 days to enjoy all this island paradise has to offer. |
