Heading inland you drive towards Outjo where you will meet with some of the local people of the area.
The Himba people are semi-nomadic pastoralists who are easily recognisable by their unique style of dress. Their hair, clothes and jewellery all form an important part of their tradition and culture.
Spend either the afternoon visiting the Himba, or the next morning before you depart for Etosha. Please have respect for the people that you are going to visit. Keep in mind that they have a different culture, and that behavior you deem as normal might be offensive to them, and vice versa. |
