x Leave the Mother City behind you as you explore the world-famous winelands, visit an ostrich farm, the enormous Cango Caves, explore the beautiful Garden Route, marvel at the Addo Elephant National Park and continue on to pony trek in the highlands of Lesotho.

Day 1: Visit the Stellenbosch Wine Route

Leave the beautiful city of Cape Town and head for the wine region of Stellenbosch.

En-route to your camp you will visit a wine farm to sample some of the excellent wine. In whale season (between June and November) you will spend the night near Hermanus where you might see some of these huge mammals.

Day 2: Travel to Oudtshoorn

Leaving the coast behind you, you drive inland to visit the Cango Caves. After taking a tour of this amazing natural wonder, you have the opportunity to visit an ostrich farm, and maybe even get to ride one of these large birds.

Days 3: Head for Knysna

Returning to the coast via some lovely country roads, you drive to the picturesque seaside village of Knysna. Enjoy a scenic hike or glide around the lagoon in a canoe before spending the evening around the camp fire.

Days 4-5: Explore the Tsitsikamma National Park

It is a short drive to Storms River, your base for the next 2 nights. From here you will explore the coastal region in the Tsitsikamma National Park. The hiking here is some of the best anywhere and includes the option to walk the first few kilometres of the Otter Trail.

The area offers a range of exciting activities, including bungee jumping, treetop tours and hiking.

Day 6: Experience the Addo Elephant Park

The journey continues further east into the Eastern Cape Province where you spend your time in Addo Elephant National Park surrounded by these magnificent creatures. Game driving in the park allows you good opportunity to take some wonderful photos.

Days 7-8: Enjoy Scenic Hikes at Hogsback

After a last game drive in Addo, you head for Hogsback, travelling via Port Elizabeth.

Hogsback is situated in a picturesque valley and provides for some excellent hiking, as well as some lovely horse trails.

Days 9-10: Visit Lesotho

After a long but scenic drive you enter the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. The next day you get up early and those going on the Pony Trek, will ride into the remote hills of Lesotho, accompanied by local guides. If you choose to remain behind, you can just relax or visit the local village, school or craft market.

Days 11-12: Spend Time in the Drakensberg

Today you return to South Africa where you drive towards the Royal Natal National Park. You spend the next 2 nights in this majestic area exploring mountain paths and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Drakensberg.

Optional horse riding trails are an easier way to reach some of the more remote viewpoints.

Day 13: End Your Journey in Durban

Your journey today takes you through some amazing scenery as you return to the coast. In the late afternoon you arrive in Durban, and, although the tour has ended, it is possible to go out for a final meal together at one of the excellent curry restaurants.
